Hello everyone!

AI2U's open beta development journey continues with a new patch that addresses various gameplay issues, fixes dialogue voice output for a few languages, adjusts token use to be more efficient, and includes our first improvements to our environments.

We will continue to update the beta with new content, adjustments to the token system, and bug fixes!

NOTICE: A change was made that new users will have to verify their email during the account creation process. A bug currently exists for accounts made before this update that will have the verification pop-up appear every time at login without a verification email being sent. Please click the "Verified" button on the pop-up to enter the game. You will need to do this each time at login. We are currently working to resolve this issue. This issue will not affect gameplay.

HOT FIX UPDATE (v0.4.8.2) 5/21/24:

An issue has been fixed in which the default language is not set to English. There is now a "Change to English" button on the main login page to reset the language back to English. This is a temporary solution and we will be further improved during the next version update.

HOT FIX UPDATE (v0.4.8.1) 5/15/24:

An issue has been fixed for first time users. You should now correctly receive the verification email to activate your account to login to the game. Please contact us at: support@alterstaff.io if you are still having issues.

Returning players will still receive the unintended pop-up notification, but can still play the game by simply clicking the "Verified" button. We apologize for the inconvenience!

V.0.4.8 Change List:

AI Dialogue

• The NPC dialogue response frequency has been lowered. Dialogue responses will no longer be generated for every player action and dialogue repetition has been lowered significantly.
  • These changes have been made to help players save tokens by removing repetitive and excessive NPC responses.
• NPC dialogue improvements have been made for more consistent reactions and emotional stages.
• Resolved an issue that triggers the AI's incorrect response of "Don't say that" or "Don't say such things".
  • NPC will continue to respond with these two messages if you are out of tokens, have no internet connection, or there are server issues.

Account

• You can now reset your password on the login screen or in the account tab. An email will be sent to the email address linked to your account.
• An email verification process is now included while signing up for new accounts.
• If you wish to change the email address on your AI2U account, please contact us at: support@alterstaff.io.

Gameplay

• New optional mission goals have been added to both levels.
• Two new achievements have been added.
• Level 1 Changes:
  • The fridge in the cat girl's apartment is now stocked with plenty of new ingredients. You can find recipe hints in various locations. Happy cooking!
  • The cat girl's chasing sequence has been improved. Watch out.
  • The cat girl's computer password is now randomized and her wifi password has been updated.
  • The painting mini game has been improved and the player characters will no longer block the art canvas.
• Level 2 Changes:
  • The witch will now rescue the player when they die from a forest ghost for the first time.
  • The maze has been sized down and should be easier to navigate.
  • Signing the contract gameplay has been modified.
  • The witch has a new reaction when the secret room door is opened.
  • The witch now has a better knowledge of potions.

Visuals

• The cat girl's apartment environment has been updated!
  • We are working on makeovers and improvements for more rooms. Stay tuned!

UI

• All achievement icons have been updated and improved.
• You can now access patch notes from the main menu.
• The main menu has been cleaned up, and now various menu options can be found under a new "Settings" tab.
• Players can now log out and change their password under the "Account" tab.
• The shop UI has been updated.
• A scroll bar has been added to the inventory page for better navigation.
• The UI for the witch's diary in level 2 has been updated and improved.

Audio

• The ghost's sound effect sound levels during the death cutscene in Level 2 has been reduced.

Localization

• NPC dialogue and voice output for Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese localizations have been updated and improved. There are a few exceptions, and they will be updated in the next patches.
• The voice output for Spanish has been changed to better reflect the tone of each character.
• Japanese and Spanish text overflow issues have been fixed.
• Some translation errors in Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish have been fixed.

Bugfixes

• Items can no longer be collected through walls, covers, or doors.
• Achievement pop-up text overflow issues have been fixed.
• Level 1 Bugfixes:
  • Fixed an issue where the cat girl's computer sometimes doesn't spawn in her gaming room.
  • The cat girl can no longer attack and damage the player through walls.
  • Fixed an issue where the cooking minigame sometimes returned multiple items to the inventory when players drag an item back.
• Level 2 Bugfixes:
  • The witch will now correctly walk into the secret room.
  • The witch will no longer direct players to find ingredients outside
